OMB Tour of Homes™ Awards Presented

The Olympia Master Builders hosted two Tours of Homes™ award ceremonies in September. The 2008 West Coast Bank Tour of Homes™ Awards Banquet at the September 10 General Membership Dinner Meeting was held at the Indian Summer Golf Club.

According to the OMB Tour of Homes™ Committee Chair, Gary Rust of Mutual Materials, "This year's tour included twelve homes and demonstrated to the community our builders' passion for excellence."
Builders for this year's Tour included:  Adair Homes, Doyle Custom Homes, Jackson Homes, Peretti Ryser, Parthenon Construction, Polar Bear Construction, Schneider Homes, The Artisans Group, Trans Northwest Construction, Triway Enterprises, and Yesterday's Home Builders.

The public at large voted on homes for the People's Choice Awards. A team of industry experts, from outside the Thurston County area comprised the panel of judges, to select the Judges' Awards. Judges looked at overall first impressions, attention to detail, balance and function, relationship of design to site, special features and more in deciding who should get top honors.

Chair Gary Rust began the Award program with presenting a special Chair's Award to Jackson Homes, for being "best sustaining participant since 2001, and in recognition of consistent participation each year from the beginning with high quality products."

The People's Choice Award winners were the following:  Best Curb Appeal - Parthenon Construction;  Best Kitchen - Doyle Custom Homes, Inc.;  Best Master Suite, Best Floorplan and Best of Show - Polar Bear Construction.

The Judges' Choice Award winners were:  Best Curb Appeal - Parthenon Constructon;  Best Kitchen - Doyle Custom Homes; Best Master Suite - Polar Bear Construction; Best Floorplan and Best in Show - Trans Northwest Construction.

Twin Harbors Tour of Homes™
The Twin Harbors Chapter of the Olympia Master Builders held the 2008 Anchor Bank Tour of Homes™ Awards Banquet at the Quinault Casino and Resort in Ocean Shores on Thursday, September 4.

Committee Chair, Dori Lambert from Levee Lumber said, "This year's tour included six new  homes, two remodeled homes and some condos. This years tour showed the community how diversified our builders really are."
Builders included:  Custom Builders Northwest Corporation, Poplin Construction, Daniel Barney Homes, Foss and Son Construction, Locke Construction, Lavallee Builders, and The Villages of Ocean Shores.

The public at large voted on homes for the People's Choice Award. A team of judges, comprised of the Mayor of Ocean Shores, OMB First Vice President Tim Dickey, and a prior builder and owner of a local building supply, selected the Judges' Awards. Judges looked at overall first impressions, materials, design, function, traffic flow, attention to detail, curb appeal, and more in deciding who should get top honors.

Chair Dori Lambert began the Award portion of the program by thanking sponsors Anchor Bank, Levee Lumber, McFarland Cascade, CertainTeed, Rockey's Universal Construction, Coast Title & Escrow and Schumacher Electric for all being sponsors for all four years of the tour.

The People's Choice Award winners were Best of Show - Foss & Son Construction

The Judges' Choice Award winners were:  Best Home Under 1700 sq feet - Locke Construction; Best Home Over 1700 sq feet - Custom Builders Northwest Corporation; Best Remodel - Foss & Son Construction; Best Remodel and Best in Show - Foss and Son Construction

Chair Dori Lambert thanked her Committee Members:  Co-Chair Sheri Rockey's of Rockey's Universal Construction; Betty Iverson of Anchor Bank Ocean Shores; Mike Foss of Foss and Son Construction, Inc.; and Chris Raders of McGregor Insurance, Inc.
