Who We Are

The Olympia Master Builders is a professional trade association whose purpose is to improve the construction industry and the business climate in which it operates. Members are dedicated to integrity, craftsmanship, and respect for the consumers, the environment, and one another.

Our Association was formed in 1959 by a small dedicated group of individuals who decided to form the Home Builders Association of Greater Olympia. As an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, the new members pledged to hold inviolate the free enterprise system and the American way of life. They further agreed to support other member businesses, the State and National Associations and all related industries concerned with the preservation of legitimate rights and freedoms.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Olympia became known as the Olympia Master Builders in 1984 when the general membership approved a name change and revised Bylaws. The members felt that this name better described the wide variety of member companies within the Association. After a period of consolidation and improvement of internal operations during the last half of the 1980's, the Association expanded significantly in terms of number of members and impact on the community during the 1990's. It has added new chapters to serve the Lewis, Grays Harbor, Pacific and Mason county areas. The Olympia Master Builders now ranks as the third largest association in the area and is clearly the leading advocate of affordable housing.
